I am so glad for all the help for the out the $2700. This is a blessing. I have yet to receive a call or an email from anyone, but my dispute package came in the mail from my cc company and I have plenty of info to send in with it. Thanks E.J. for all the great advice and Peggy for being able to rent me my cabin in the very near future. SebMom

I'm not even sure if everyone has gotten these letters. I have not seen a dime yet. I didn't get a letter either though I did talk to R. Vick a couple of days in a row. He never followed up with any email like he said; and I haven't heard from him since. I'm letting my bank, etc. handle it. They have turned it over to Fraud at this point anyway.

Jul 13, 2010 07:02 PM

I'm a renter- not a cabin owner... Not seen a dime yet! I keep hearing that he thinks he's entitled to our money, b/c he's worked hard all his life- he's owed it. I think it unless he feels pressure he'll not return the money. File with TREC, Det. Hodges, Speak with Mr. House, call the paper, file with the BBB. He is not going to want to loose his Real Estate Lic. With enough pressure we may get our money back...

Everyone try to book Castle on the Green or Mt. Critter Lodge for your next vacation... Robert, Libby and David Vick Highly Recommend these two!

Jul 13, 2010 03:17 PM

For credit card disputes: also include all three articles in the mt. press. Go to the bottom of the Mt. Press page and under search type in Vick. Even if the last two articles are not about you and your family, the fact the press is so involved can only help your case with your company. My packet to TREC had 26 pages and my credit card had even more... Good Luck everyone!

Shamie~ Re-read your own post, that is not all you said. You said you don't know how Peggy got those cabins and that YOU wonder if she has a license? Your trying to steer people away from her and to where VICK recommended? Why in the world would you get on THIS site and boast that you spoke with Vick and he recommended a place to you as if your telling us someone great said so- as if his opinion holds water with us. If you have a co-worker who is great, they go off on their own to start their own business in the area they are already proficient in, you would not support them because it is a new business? I don't know why this would anger you? You still have not answered how it is Shameless for others to state their own experiences with getting information from Peggy. How many people sited Det. Hodges? I bet she is not the only Det. in town either. How about Mr. House- I bet he is not the only person who works at TREC...

Jul 13, 2010 02:58 PM

Yes, I have heard him say that at least twice but I don't attend there a lot. Just today someone asked me if I still attended and I said sometimes. But the important comment from that person was that he overheard Gene call his workers peasants as he was their king. Is nothing surprising about that person? I almost said MAN but I will not give him that.

Jul 13, 2010 02:37 PM

I've not gotten anything back. The only people who have gotten any money from them, that I've heard of, have been some cabin owners.

Jul 13, 2010 02:32 PM

....Not that their word....

Jul 13, 2010 01:08 PM

I was just wondering...has anybody who rented from the Vick's received any cabin deposit money back? I know they sent a letter stating they were going to reimburse....but I was just wondering if they have stuck to their word. No that their word means anything.

Shamie? Did you guys think of that all by yourselves? What a bunch of tools!

Jul 13, 2010 12:52 PM

Pioneer has helped and that's great. But there are others that have also been helping just as I have pointed out. That's all I've said.

Jul 13, 2010 12:51 PM

Did he really say that he would throw you out for not minding? Sounds like somebody thinks they are too big for their britches.

Jul 13, 2010 11:50 AM

*given... opps

Jul 13, 2010 11:49 AM

Of course Pioneer had not been heard of prior to all this~ Pioneer is new. We now all know of it, because we tracked Peggy down! She was so helpful at Fontaine Cabin Rentals, her name is one I remember. I think the fact that we remember her as a great person to deal with is a good thing. So I'm sure the cabin owners felt the same. If not why would they have gone with her.What- think she held a gun to their heads? Or bribed them with the money she stole- oh wait that was Vick-someone you site as a good refferal! How the hell did YOU actually get to speak with him anyway??? I'm sure the cabin owners were grateful that she turned down Vicks offer of sharing the profits from rentals and not telling the owners how often their places rented. That would make me trust her- she put herself out there by giving that statement to Det. Hodges. Also Shamie~ we are well aware that there are many cabin companies... Who are you trying to scare "may not have a license" lol Hopefully Vick will be the one without a license soon...Thanks to everyone who filed with the TN Real Estate Commission

Jul 13, 2010 11:29 AM

I am the person who posted the Fontaine Cabin Rentals Closed post on Trip Advisor. I am also a cabin owner who was with Fontaine Cabin Rentals during this whole disaster. I started referring people to Peggy at Pioneer because I knew she previously worked at Fontaine and she had the names of most of the cabin owners. She also had their phone numbers and could contact the owners to tell them when people were looking for their cabin. I know Peggy very well and have known her for many years. I only referred people to her due to this crisis, not to give her business. Peggy has been a godsend for so many people during this nightmare. Just so you know that most of the posts on Trip Advisor were not made by Peggy. I also went with another cabin rental company -- not Pioneer. So do read so much into all the compliments to Peggy. She has really helped out so many people.

Jul 13, 2010 11:19 AM

Well if Robert Vick himself recommended a company it must be AWESOME!!!

Jul 13, 2010 11:01 AM

My bank also has a 60 limit on card disputes. HOWEVER... If you tell them your full story, they should be willing to try to run the dispute through anyway. Too, if you haven't yet, you should call Detective Hodges with Sevier Co. Sheriff's Office. She can then give you a case # that you can then provide with your docu*entation for your card dispute. It should/may help.

Jul 13, 2010 10:54 AM

Shamie McShamelesson, hey that is good. This person is probably Libby Vick since I heard she has a terrible temper. (Poor little Robert.) She is jealous of someone who is happily doing her job and helping people although not financially being rewarded for her efforts all the time.

Jul 13, 2010 08:46 AM

That family from Michigan is staying for free in a cabin from Peggy and one smaller one from Otis...

Jul 13, 2010 08:30 AM

Just yesterday the person answered the telephone at the TN Attorney General's Office told me I could not file, that it had to be done with TN real estate commision- I've done that. May I ask who you spoke with and telephone #? thanks :)

Jul 13, 2010 08:26 AM

I went to my bank to file a dispute on my credit card regarding the deposit made on a cabin. The bank said that typically you only have up to 60 days from the charge date to file a dispute. My bank did file a report with their fraud division so we will see what happens. Also I filed a complaint with the TN Attorney General's Office - Division of Consumer Affairs.

Jul 13, 2010 08:11 AM

Back on topic, please... Seem to have some pent up anger issues here.

Jul 13, 2010 07:59 AM

I suspect the "real" business is Trees to Green Properties, LLC.

Jul 13, 2010 07:57 AM

Shameless??? Well I guess you should stop coming to these sites if your "tired". I guess I need to look up the meaning of shameless? I did not know it included someone who would direct you to another rental company when you tell her your looking for your favourite cabin and it's not with her business. (Nor her doing the postings.)That's what happened with me. Plus she gave a statement to the police(which she did not have to put herself out there) which will help us all!!! Directing business away from herself=Shameless, well I guess you learn something new everyday. So it's o.k. to tell people who not to do business with, but not who to do business with? Only interested in the negative? Well, move on, because this site is about helping each other and directing each other toward anyone who will help. Anyone with a computer or who has been to Gatlinburg is well aware that Pioneer is not the "only game in town". But thanks for the information- very helpful. I won't be using Pioneer this trip because she told me what company has my fav. cabin-but I'll still continue to "promote" Pioneer. Have a nice relaxing day surrounded by your negativity.

Jul 13, 2010 05:12 AM

Maybe if we list it as Fontaine Cabin Rentals and Reality. The real estate portion of the business is still open!

Jul 13, 2010 04:58 AM

The other places have been helping too.

Jul 13, 2010 04:29 AM

Pioneer Cabin Rentals seems to have helped so many, including owners and guests. Guess that's why all the "plugs"

Jul 12, 2010 07:47 PM

Jackson, Elk Springs, and Greenbrier Valley are also all possible alternatives if you are still looking. Pioneer is NOT the only game in town. I have nothing to do with any of these. I am just tired of the shameless plugs for Pioneer popping up on all these forums, etc.

Jul 12, 2010 04:16 PM

People may also want to consider listing or going after Trees to Green Properties, LLC as this is the actually business that Libby Vick is listed for the owner as. Fontaine must be sub-LLCs or DBAs. At least listing both maybe a better approach.

Jul 12, 2010 09:05 AM

There are actually a half dozen or so filing with the BBB presently. While you can and probably should file, the BBB is responding, as they have with me recently, that there is nothing they can do as the business appears to be closed.

Jul 12, 2010 09:03 AM

We will definately be keeping an eye on her available rentals and are scheduled to stay in one of hers next month. Can't wait!

Jul 10, 2010 03:41 PM

I am so glad this information was here for me. I was about to contact the Vicks. Thanks again.

Jul 10, 2010 10:30 AM

P.S. Special thanks to Barbara for pointing us in Peggy's direction. Meanwhile, if anyone knows who manages the Lov-N-Ewe cabin, please advise. Had our eye on that one for the next visit.

Jul 10, 2010 09:29 AM

Thank you for those comments. The "we know who you are" sure does NOT motivate me. It is like gene's comment I will have you thrown out of here if you don't mind me. I need that seat for someone else. The last time I attended there were plenty of seat ready for someelse. The church I attended two Sundays ago did NOT have many seats left. By the way, Mr. Shame on You Sir I have never been to a Wednesday nite service. So, now, intimidate someone else.

Jul 10, 2010 08:00 AM

That must be DZ popping in here again trying to intimidate people. The whole 'we know who you are' is getting a bit old. Can't you try to motivate somebody without using fear? Geez - that's all you ever get at The Gathering. If you don't give and serve willingly, then they'll scare ya until you do!!!

Jul 09, 2010 08:50 PM

You must work for the TBI. Do you carry a firearm in the church building as well?

Jul 09, 2010 06:01 PM

Be sure and read the comments after the article; I am proud to say I know Otis, Doug, and Peggy.

Jul 09, 2010 05:58 PM

Shame on you sir! We know who you are and how long you've been attending. We know what you're up to and where you sit in the Sanctuary. As if Sunday mornings were not enough, we see you've decided to attend Wednesday night's service as well. So tell us non-tithing, non-member sir; what are your latest juicy tid-bits on The Gathering? Please do keep attending as we love praying for you!

Jul 09, 2010 12:09 PM

Be sure to call Det. Hodges with Sevier Co. Sherrif's Office and try to call the investigative reporter at WATE Channel 6 in Knoxville. He has been briefly informed of the situation. Also file a complaint with TREC. These are things we can be doing while we wait to see the outcome. Also file a dispute with your bank if you have used a CC to book your rental with Fontaine.

Jul 08, 2010 11:34 AM

Definitely avoid The Castle (on the Green) and Mountain Critter Lodge. They are both owned by the Vicks or the Vick faimly. They are also both for sale by Robert Vick presently, at least they have been.

Jul 08, 2010 11:30 AM

The Castle is owned by the Vick family. Run from them as fast as you can; they are crooks.

Jul 08, 2010 08:52 AM

I am trying to rent the Castle. Does anyone know how to find the company who rents it?

Jul 08, 2010 08:51 AM

I hope the lady who sent them $2700 to surprise her grandfather with an East TN vaction learns of this. My heart goes out to her.

Jul 08, 2010 08:49 AM

BBB of Knoxville's telephone number is (865) 692-1600. And thanks for the information above. WOW is all I can say. Cannot wait for them to get what they deserve.

Jul 08, 2010 08:45 AM

Harley Buddies~ Check under "company" and type in fontaine cabins his address, cell, email are all there. Plus you MUST read the posts about filing with the TN real estate commission. If anything is going to hold him accountable, it is going through the paperwork to file. Look for the post that refers to a Mr. House and call him. Post after you do... :)

Jul 07, 2010 06:26 PM

Oh it is a crime. There is proof of intent to steal from cabin owners. A former employee of Vick's was offered by Vick to split the cabin rental fees with the employee and not tell the owners their cabins were rented as often as they were. Det. Hodges is aware of this and has taken a statement from the employee. Sounds criminal, not civil to me! How about not only the money we are due but the time spent on this and emotional distress~ I'm sure Det. Hodges needed that vacation and is not looking forward to her return. May I ask what number you used for the BBB? Thank You

Jul 07, 2010 04:42 PM

I just talked to a realtor. If the Vicks do not pay back those that have trusted them, they will be committing a felony. They said the the attorney general of Tennessee will be involved in the case. Robert, Libby, and David Vick could be facing jail time. They as*ured me that this is a crime. It will just take awhile. Everyone please file your complaint to the Tennessee Real Estate Commission.

Jul 07, 2010 03:04 PM

WATE's phone number in Knoxville is (865) 637-6666.

Jul 07, 2010 11:29 AM

I called a left a message on the investigator guys voice mail. Please everyone who has a problem with the Vicks call.

Jul 07, 2010 11:23 AM

The investigator guy at WATE Channel 6 in Knoxville has also expressed an interest in this particular story potentially. You should contact him.

Jul 06, 2010 07:30 PM

Hmmmmmm....I wonder why she dosen't have a real husband yet..I mean a real family with kids.

Jul 06, 2010 01:43 PM

True...with her fake boobs and her extremely over weight makes her look like a sl**. Oh wait...and dating a young man in his twenties yea...she a desperate old lady!

Jul 06, 2010 01:41 PM

I should have said if there is anything that is a legal matter or illegal. Right now, there may or may not be.

Jul 06, 2010 12:44 PM

Yes, there is a big question as to whether anything to this point is actually "legal" or not. After speaking with Det. Hodges last week, she seems to agree; but she is talking to as many affected people as possible to see if there is anything. The Sheriff's Office and TREC are trying to investigate the Vicks; but until something legal is uncovered, there is little they can do. The Vicks are evidently laying low at this point. Call the detective, file with TREC, try a CC dispute with your bank. These are the things you can be working on at the moment.

Jul 06, 2010 12:43 PM

I just spoke with the Better Business Bureau and filed a complaint. The lady told me there wasnt anything they could really do at this point and that the Tennessee Real Estate Commission was looking into the matter. I then called the TREC at 615-741-2273 and left a message for Carneal House. We need every person effected in this to flood the Tennessee Real Estate Commission with complaints. I called the Sevier Sheriffs Dept and Det Hodges is on vacation this week. The officer I spoke with was well aware of the situation and stated that at this point everything was a civil matter. Keep calling the TREC...enough calls will make this a criminal matter.

Jul 06, 2010 12:15 PM

This site has 1518 views. Does that make you wonder, I sure do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jul 05, 2010 06:16 PM

They took down the Fontaine lettering. They wanted to just quick deed the property to the last owner. Lawyer said the last owner does NOT have to settle for that. Beware they will reopening under another name.

Jul 05, 2010 06:00 PM

It is the water department of the area. Robert Vick is the president. It would be a way of letting them know how crooked he is.

Jul 05, 2010 02:00 PM

What is Webb Creek~ What would that do?

Jul 04, 2010 08:34 PM

We should all call the Webb Creek Utility District and tell them Robert Vick owes us money. That will open their eyes to Mr. I Know Everything and the Hicks Down Here Don't. President Webb Creek Utility District 3625 Lindsey Mill Rd Gatlinburg, TN 37738 (865) 430-3640

Jul 04, 2010 07:20 PM

Wow...I love the cabin but that is a lot of money for two bedrooms, great room with living room, kitchen, and dining combined. It does have two bathrooms with one of them used as the utility room also. The jacuzzi is up stairs. The deck is in need of serious attention and the sliding screens are falling out. I guess the view and privacy are worth something or in this case lots of somethings. The cabin is very secluded from the other cabins as cabins go in Cobbly Knob. (It should be spelled Knob, Rob Vick did not like it when I nicknamed it CK.)

Jul 04, 2010 07:15 PM

Beware he will try and sell one of his cabins and then not deliver just like he has done with cabin rental business. I wonder how many people had their 4th of July weekend ruined by the Vicks.

Jul 04, 2010 06:51 PM

Mike and Robin are still attending.

Jul 04, 2010 06:38 PM

Thank You, I spoke with the listing agent last Wed. Anyone have an extra $300,000 you'd like me to take off your hands? LOL

Jul 04, 2010 01:13 PM

True That...

Jul 03, 2010 08:19 PM

Another place to call and file a complaint is the local chamber of commerce. Maybe a call to the Mayor's office and county board. Does anyone know if there is an tourist bureau for the area? Might be another place to give a call to and voice your happiness. FYI in the stat of Illinois thief of $1000 or greater is felony fraud. So you might want to file through your own state attorney general's office besides the one in TN. So does anyone know any local attorneys in the area??

Jul 03, 2010 04:52 PM

Thanks to everyone for taking the time to post info. we have to stick together to make things right. And take the time to do so.

Jul 03, 2010 01:41 PM

ROBERT VICK

Jul 03, 2010 01:37 PM

Thank you so much... The only way we are finding out what to do is each other. I think about all the others who got their money back from their cc and did not know they coul go any further... or those who know nothing until they walk up to check in...you should place your post on tripadvisor too so more affected will know what to do

Jul 03, 2010 10:16 AM

TN Real Estate Commission. I called 615-253-1177 and spoke to Connel House. When he found out I was a cabin owner and received a check from the Vicks for June rentals thru the 15, he put his manager/supervisor on the phone. It was a woman....we went back and forth so much that I really did not get her name. Sorry. But she was very interested in all the info I was able to give her. She also gave me many details about the investigation. Even when I faxed her copies of my docu*ents she told me to fax them to Connel. But I will tell you from our conversation, they are doing their best to investigate this situation. I really did not think I was going to receive any money from the Vicks and had called a few days earlier and left a message with Connel. In the meantime, I received the check. But they still want to talk to everybody involved.

to the last poster...What dept. should we ask for or name of a person? Thanks

Jul 03, 2010 09:13 AM

I talked to the Tennessee Real Estate Commission a few days ago. Be as*ertive...get beyond the person who answers and says "we already know about Fontaine." I am a cabin owner and once connected to the right dept. the person put their supervisor on the phone with me. She talked to me for over 20 minutes gathering information. She said she never hears from the cabin owners and she was very interested in all the info I was able to provide. Per her request, I also sent her a copy of the letter Libby Vick sent the cabin owners. PLEASE EVEN CABIN OWNERS CONTACT THEM...THEY ARE INVESTIGATING. This is our only way to make sure they do not get away with what they have done to so many people.

I recall an illustration that Gene once gave about being a servant. He was at home with his son and his brother in law (I think) was washing his car next door. He tells his son that he wants to give him a great example of what it is to be a servant. Now I'm thinking - wonderful he is going to go and wash his brother in law's car- but no! He tells his son "Go next door and tell ---- wash my dad's car." I nearly fell out of my seat! Unbelievable!

Jul 03, 2010 05:30 AM

The Vicks have control of Castle on the Green and Mountain Critter Lodge on Rodeo Drive. I am not sure who owns them. Robert's father, Bob Vick, owns some property or all of these properties that they are still trying to rent. Robert and Libby Vick live in the house at 759 Vixen Run. Sounds like someone is setting up for a friendly drive-by.

Jul 02, 2010 02:11 PM

I suspect that any "pro-rata" is because Vick is attempting to charge cancellation fees even though they have closed the business and it would seem that would cancel any contracts. However, it would appear Robert is still trying to enforce the contracts through his closed business though the closed business may ultimately only be a sub-LLC or a DBA for Tree to Green Properties, LLC. Unless something surfaces, this may not be a legal issue. But whatever the case, it's a matter of professionalism and ethics or lack thereof.

Jul 02, 2010 01:55 PM

If you have been affected and have not yet, please contact Detective Hodges. She is trying to gather as much information from those affected as possible. I believe the number listed above is correct.

Jul 02, 2010 01:17 PM

The Vicks also own The Mountain Critter Lodge. Robert claims that he does not own it directly but it is in the faimly. I suspect it's his dad. They do also own The Castle. Both were rented by Fontaine Cabin Rentals. Robert has them both for sale though through Fontaine Realty. Both companies or DBAs are controlled by Tree to Green Properties, LLC which was renewed in 12/09 by Libby Vick.

Jul 02, 2010 01:16 PM

How many cabins or houses do the Vick's own?

Jul 02, 2010 09:50 AM

Are you sure about the home address I found another one on Rodeo Drive under just Libby "high blood pressure" Vick... By the way if anyone is curious she is 54yrs old... I had wondered about how old they were.

Jul 02, 2010 08:55 AM

The houses that the Vick's have on there Real Estate site are owned by them. The Castle on the Green and one home in Holiday Hills section. Value is well over $1 million. They also own a home on Vixen Run and equity in Fontaines cabin.

Jul 02, 2010 08:33 AM

I am very impressed with the last entry. You said as it should be said. Just show us how the money of the church is used and we will all shut up. Will it ever happen? I trust the Lord will some how move in that area and cause a truthful cleansing of this log in one's eye. By the way some of us do NOT live beyond our means. We budget the money that we earn and do not go beyond those limits. We eat at McDonald's and drive Chevrolets and Fords, not Land Rovers. Thank you Lord for such wisdom!!!

Jul 02, 2010 07:46 AM

There's no problem if Gene wants to spend HIS money on those things. Prove to the world that he's not spending CHURCH money on those things. Who sees the finances? Who sets the salaries? It's easy to stand up and say to a congregation that as a pastor you led the sacrificial giving by pledging/giving 50 thousand dollars. What most don't know is that the 50 thousand is easily made up for over the year through the CHURCH paying for expensive clothes, trips, automobiles, etc ... Other people, regular people, have to pay for those things out of their OWN pocket. So, shut up and show DETAILS of the spending ... or in other words ... pull the log out of your own eye.

I think the pro-rata is minus cancellation fees. This is what he told another person who sent Fontaine a rental deposit. These people are UNBELIEVABLE !!!

I mean Tennessee Real Estate Commission

I am a cabin owner...i really did not think I would receive any money from them. I also talked to the Tennessee Real Commission. Because of the way the law was written, they have no enforcement rights with cabin rental companies. They saw Vick at the rental company last week to investigate but he did not let them into the building. Word is that people all over town are looking for both of the Vicks. Not many sightings.

I am afraid that they are going to keep some of the money they don't deserve. I sure hope though. They don't deserve anything but jail time.

I just learned that Gene has a pool. I am sure the church paid for it under the "we need a place for baptisms rule."
